Some impressions from the company to date:
warmest welcome, elevator going down, fantastisch, windig + raining, pleasure, itsu, irre, LLL’s = Lovely Ladies from London, colorful, ungewöhnlich, sashimi, guter Start, wo sind die Olympische Spiele?, curious, die Luft ist gut die haut ist weich, selbst Kochmöglichkeiten, I’m on it!, charming, wonderful crews, kaputt, es zieht, freundliches Licht in den Bäumen, Pina is present, vast adventure, interessant und schön, müdeglücklich, es ist ein Geschenk, wir knüpfen gerade 10 Olympische Ringe zu einem Tanztheater Makrame, alarm, toast,…
DAY 6. A wonderful opening night of VIKTOR, filled with very generous and colorful speeches, and an invitation by the Lord Mayor of Wuppertal to celebrate our marathon achievement when we return home. This morning we are all back onstage for ‘critic’, whilst the load-in for NUR DU continues at the Barbican. The trees are standing tall and strong, the office is printer ready, the fly-man is asking for his plot, the venue is warming up for the dancers, …

Ed Kortland and Claudia Irman are rehearsing the supernumeries, and the lighting department have turned the work-lights off to focus. Outside stage door, the road leading back to the hotel is cooking up a storm. A street vendor, foodies delight with curries, burritos, pao de queso,  and other “Leckerheiten” are on display at Whitecross Street. A promise of some delicious lunchtime dining.

DAY 7. The second and the last show of VIKTOR has come and gone greeted by a warm and generous audience. For me it was an honor and a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with so many beautiful and enthusiastic supernumeries, gentlemen in the true sense of the word, gentlemen filled with amazing stories, one of them having been onstage when VIKTOR was performed at Sadler’s Wells many years ago, another who mentioned he had once upon a time auditioned for the company, and others that were creating new collabortive memories with us.
On this windy and blustery day we are already on stage at the Barbican rehearsing and spacing Nur Du under the watchful and caring eye of Cristiana Morganti who is assisting in the rehearsals of this production. Tomorrow…opening night NUR DU at the Barbican Theatre.
